Health, Safety And Environment Policy Statement

In the development of its operations, the basic and continuing Policy of Sellafield Energy Resources Limited is that of total support for the Health and Safety of its people and of others who may be affected by these operations, and of using its best to minimize negative effects on the environment where these operations are carried out.

Sellafield Energy Resources Limited personnel assigned to work with clients shall meet the standards of Health, Safety and Environmental Protection imposed by local legislation and client's provisions.

To meet these aims, Sellafield Energy Resources Limited is committed to:

  • Establish measurable HSE Performance objectives and continually improve the HSE processes through the use of an effectively implemented and integrated Management System endorsed by OSHAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2004.
  • Establish the practice of complying with the significant local rules and government laws regarding Health, Safety and Environmental Protection at any place where Sellafield Energy Resources Limited operations are performed.
  • Providing the knowledge of all current legislation and other necessary information, specific for local work areas, to all its personnel / specialists involved in these areas, and to ensuring that all this personnel have acquired the full knowledge of their responsibilities concerning Health, Safety and Environmental Protection and take action correspondingly.
  • Providing incentives aimed at encouraging its personnel to be always active in avoidance of accidents, by observing procedural Health, Safety and Environment provisions, and by taking immediate corrective actions in case of non-conformities.
  • Plan for, respond to and recover from any HSE Emergency.
  • Providing continuous training on Health, Safety and Environment issues to its personnel, aimed at emphasizing the importance of compliance with the above policy at their work site.
